there are two ways to eat chocolate covered almonds
- savour every single bite of deliciousness
- shove them in your mouth as quickly as possible before you (or someone else) catches you
the difference is in the allowing
when you allow yourself to have chocolate covered almonds whenever you want to
as many as you want
until you’re not loving them anymore
you savour every bite of deliciousness
and you may not want them that often
this is true joy eating.
I require it of my clients
and they resist me almost every time
they’re afraid that if they allow themselves to eat their most decadent foods
they’ll never stop
but they’re eating them anyway!!!
secretly, furtively, guiltily, shamefully.
or they wouldn’t be overweight!!!
my work is to convince them
that when we allow it
the resistance fades,
calm sets in
you’re totally present and aware with your joy food
and you’ll notice how little you need when you pay attention to every bite
and it’s not forbidden anymore
and you savour every bite of deliciousness
and then you continue on with your day
no self recrimination or self hatred
it’s part of the program
you’re required to do it
so do it
and enjoy it!!!!
